☕ Caffeinated Conversations | May’26 | Ed.27 | Building a Professional Presence & Celebrating What’s Brewing

Hi Reader,

Welcome back to Caffeinated Conversations

The coffee’s hot, and there’s been no shortage of exciting things brewing lately — from clients winning awards to behind-the-scenes creative projects — we're keeping things moving full steam ahead, fueled by my latest favorite coffee (I'll share at the end).

We have caffeinated cheers to share, along with a quick personal update before I step away to recharge my creative batteries. ☕✨

Two weeks ago, I went to a restaurant where one person at the table received their food quickly… while everyone else waited.

At first, you assume the rest of the meals will follow. But then the minutes keep passing. The person who has their food is halfway finished, while everyone else sits awkwardly, wondering what happened behind the scenes.

As customers, we may not know exactly where the breakdown happened — communication, timing, staffing, systems — but we immediately feel the experience when something isn’t working smoothly.

Businesses can experience something similar online.

In this month’s article, I’m sharing why a professional online presence requires more than good design alone. Branding matters. Messaging matters. But functionality, consistency, and ongoing attention matter too.

Since my last newsletter, there have been several exciting milestones worth celebrating!

Congratulations are in order for Wheatstone, which received 2026 Product of the Year from NAB for its new VMX Mix Engine Technology, along with three Best of Show awards recognizing its VMX technology, new failsafe technology for 4th-generation Blade architecture, and the new Audioarts DMX-12 console.

I’d like to congratulate Michael Fabbri, National Sales Manager at King Plastic Corporation, on his upcoming retirement. It has been a pleasure to collaborate on various projects over the years. Wishing him all the best as he begins this next chapter.

My friend MJ Bellino is an ordained minister who officiates wedding ceremonies. She recently launched Paradise Wedding Ceremonies! MJ creates each ceremony with your unique story in mind — your journey, your values, and your love. You're invited to follow her new venture on Facebook and Instagram.

Sometimes the creative brain needs a little downtime too ☕✨

Designs by Kiki will be closed May 25–29 as I take a few days to rest, recharge, and step away from the screen for a bit.

I’ll return refreshed, re-inspired, and ready to jump back into creating great work for my clients. Thank you, as always, for your support, patience, and trust. 💛

Emails and messages received during this time will be responded to when I return.

Before I top off the mug and sign off, one more exciting update — a brand-new Designs by Kiki website is brewing behind the scenes! I’m looking forward to sharing the work I love creating and the amazing clients I’m grateful to collaborate with every day.

As always, thank you for following along, supporting my work, and being part of this caffeinated creative journey. Until next time — keep creating, keep growing, and don’t forget to refill your cup every once in a while too. ☕💙

Cheers!

P.S. After plenty of scientific “research” (and more cups of coffee than I should probably admit ☕), my current top two favorite coffee beans are Papua New Guinea and Organic Peru La Florida. Smooth, rich, and definitely keeping the creative gears turning over here at Designs by Kiki.

Is Your Website at Risk of a CIPA Lawsuit?

Hi Reader, Grab your coffee (and a cookie) — this one's important. If you've been anywhere near the news lately, you may have heard about a wave of lawsuits hitting businesses over their websites. And it’s about cookies. Unfortunately, not the chocolate chip cookies kind, even though I just had to bake some last weekend! Seriously, what I’m referring to here are websites that track visitors without first asking permission. Chances are that you’ve clicked on one of these cookie consent banners...

Hi Reader, It's been a minute since my last newsletter. I've been quietly brewing something in the background, working on a way to help you and your business. April signals spring cleaning, so this month I'm focusing on website health, care, and maintenance. Maybe you've been plagued by spammy emails from strangers claiming they found errors on your site, which leaves you frustrated and wondering if there really is something wrong. It's annoying, right? What if you could find the answer...

Hi Reader, How’s 2025 treating you so far? This year stretched us in new ways. But if we’re honest, those challenges were really invitations to grow. They became the building blocks that shape us into stronger leaders and more thoughtful partners to the people we serve. And in our world, most partnerships start with one simple thing: a website. But design doesn’t end at launch. We believe in long-term support built on clarity, consistency, and care. Becoming your go-to resource—one that...
